The chief beauty about time is that you cannot waste it in advance. The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you, as perfect, as unspoiled, as if you had ever wasted or misapplied a single moment in all your life. You can turn over a new leaf very hour if you choose.
2018. As the new year dawns upon us, people all around the world are making their minds on a particular resolution. Weird how it may sound, but its only at this time of the year people decide they need change. No matter how much you have messed up your life and others revolving around it, as soon as Christmas is over humans have another priority- New year’s resolution. So, as you can make out today’s post is regarding why resolutions are sometimes meaningful but often just a facade.
Yes, I called it a facade. Correct me if you think I’m wrong but isn’t it too much of a drag when you take the whole year to realize what you have to change when you could have started from the moment you actually did think of it? People find it hard to accept that decisions they take might not always be as favourable as they would have thought. Maybe it is the festive mood that everyone falls prey upon that compels the need to bring about changes to the way they have carried themselves. If resolutions are made and set in your head, there isn’t an improper time to implement them. It just takes some will, courage, and commitment from your end. Do not end up holding onto it and putting the blame on the year to end. You can set your targets anytime you want, it is the urge to carry it forward that is mandatory. Without it, well, it’s just childish.
I notice and observe people all around me. Their joys, their faults, their defeats, their lives constantly transforms my perception of life. If I think I need something and it is a must-have, it changes once the hype dies down. This hype that I refer to is somewhat the exact same thing when it comes to resolutions we end up making every year end. More than gladly accepting each day we are alive, we run around thinking what to change from the next year. Change if you have to, but stop limiting it to the start of a new year. Want to change your mundane life? Well, act fast because the more time you take waiting for the year to begin, you are just being foolish and losing more daylight.
Why resolutions post? Well, it was high time I get this thought out there. It annoys me to see people I care about being this ridiculous. How many have you come across who have stuck by what they have said? Probably a handful of them. If you are going to deny me, well, good luck to that. If I were to have a say on everything that happened, the first resolution anyone should make in our country must be to keep their nosy noses to themselves. You come across all kinds of events in this country that you stop watching the news published these days. If you can get bored of Arnab’s face that pops up everywhere, then why not these fake resolutions? All I’m trying to invoke here is some right sense- nothing else. Why change if you do not wish to? Change only if you deem it is the right thing for you, not for any other entity or self.
There were somethings that had to be changed with my life. Rather than waiting for the year to begin, I resolved it and made up my mind to undertake that endeavour immediately. As it turns out, best decision ever. Like I said all it takes to act on the resolutions that you stack up till the year end is just overcoming your own self-negligence towards it. There should be nothing- I mean nothing that should ever hinder it’s progress. If it is that hard, then make sure you have a support system of some sort to push you back into the game. Read everything clearly but always try and understand the meaning between the lines I write. If you constantly read what I write, always know my resolution a long time back was to write clearly but also to give the readers a sense of interpreting these words in a way that’s more compatible to our day-to-day, simple lives. Life is a puzzle that we try to solve at every turn. So, make the most of it, change your life in the present, and stop waiting for the year to change.
A bridge of silver wings stretches from the dead ashes of an unforgiving nightmare to the jeweled vision of a life started anew.
